LAKE LYNDON LODGE

Lake Lyndon Lodge is in many ways like a diamond. It’s small and often hard to find, but once you discover it, the reward is fantastic. Lake Lyndon is nestled in the New Zealand’s southern alps, off State Highway 73, just 1 hour’s drive from the heart of Christchurch.

The Lodge is situated at the south-western end of the Lake and is a short drive from the highway turn-off. It is well-equipped to cater for groups up to 55 with two large dormitories, 3 spacious bedrooms and a cook’s quarters. There is a large common area for indoor activities and a coal range for keeping every one warm in winter – hirer to provide own wood and coal. Power is generated on-site and an on-demand water heating is in place, hirer to bring own fuel for generator.

The Lodge is home to a wide range of activities from water-skiing in the lake, rock climbing at Castle Hill to hiking in the surrounding park land. Skiers will feel right at home as the Porters Heights and Cragieburn ski-fields are only a short drive away. Many other activities include caving, fishing, four-wheel driving – there’s something in store for everyone!
